Just a few pics to show this 1996 Vauxhall Astra in our workshop for us to sort some peeling lacquer from a previous repair.
The car is in great condition with only around 20k genuine miles on the clock.
The owner wanted the peeling lacquer removing and re-painting with the type of paint that would have originally been used.
When new, the car would have been painted using a Top Coat paint system which unlike todays paint systems is paint and lacquer all in one product. Today paint and lacquer is applied separately.
We removed the previous paint and after a lot of preparation we re-painted the car using a quality Sikkens LV351 Red Topcoat.

Primed using a 2k Syrox light grey primer.

Baked at around 55 degrees.
Flatted using 3M 2000G paper and polished using new 3M Fast Cut Plus Extreme.

The repair to this Bentley 1/4 panel is a little more difficult than usual as the 1/4 and roof are all the same panel without any separating joins or styling lines.
The 1/4 panel damage was pulled to as near to the original shape as possible.
Absolutely minimum thin skim of filler to finish off before priming the repaired area.
Then painted with Syrox base coat and finished off with a high quality lacquer.
Flatted and machine polished using 3M products.

The car is collected from the house of the customer by Scratchmaster and returned back to the workshop ready for us to start the car body repair.
We start by removing all the paint from around the damaged area and using our Pro-Pull system we attach pins to the dents.
The pro-pull system enables us to pull out the dents to somewhere near to the original shape and this is the best way to get high quality, long lasting dent repair and removal.
On this repair we will use a minimum amount premium body filler to help finish getting back the shape of the door.

This Kia came into Scratchmaster with a vandal scratch on the near side door.
The scratch was repaired and primed as you can see in the pictures.
As a general rule of thumb if you have a similar scratch on your car and you can feel the scratch with your finger nail this would be the typical method that we would use to repair your cars paintwork.
The car is prepared and then painted using a Syrox water based paint system.. The colour is read using a colour spectro camera linked live to the web and this chooses the latest paint mix for your cars colour.
After painting the colour is sealed with several coats of a protective lacquer as used by the original manufacturer. -

Ideally needing a new door Scratchmaster's customer wanted us to repair the existing door mostly for cost reducing reasons.
We set about removing the existing factory paint from around the damaged area. The dent was fairly significant as can be seen in the pictures. Paintless dent repair techniques cannot be used with a dent repair of this size. This is a repair needing fairly traditional car body repair methods.
Using our Pro-Pull system we attached studs to the dented area and pulled out the dent to something like 80-90% of the original panel shape.
What remained of the repair was finished off using a high quality body filler.

We removed the old "repair" and started over again but repairing the body to a high standard.
As with Car Body Repairs we used a high quality 2k primer to finish off before applying the Syrox colour base coat.
Once the colour is sorted we can finish with an anti-scratch top coat lacquer.
You can see the box as it first arrived with the old repair through the process until it is collected by the customer.

Ideally new door needed here for this Vauxhall Corsa but customer is on a very tight budget.
Most of the damaged area pulled out by our puller to as near to the original shape as possible but inevitably some car body filler is needed for us to be able to complete this repair.
All side panels then painted in Syrox water based colour and finished off with several coats of protective lacquer.
The car is baked and polished before being handed over to the customer.

Using fairly traditional body repair techniques the wing was firstly pulled into shape and minimum amount of car body filler used to finish the repair.
Wing and bumper corner painted (corner only to keep down cost) plus rear bumper painted 100%.
Baked, flatted and polished, washed and handed back to the customer.
