Here you can see a nearly new Volkswagen Polo with a badly creased door. Our panel technician Steve Perry advised the customer that the door skin had wrapped around the inner frame of the door and that a new door was needed.
We priced up the options of a new door and the associated work (changing over the locks, glass, interior trims and electrics) and the fitting and painting.
Steve thought that there was an outside chance of carrying out a repair to the existing door and that is the option that the customer chose.
Steve has removed all the paint from the damaged area and can be seen using our dent pulling system to both pull the dent and shrink away any areas that contain high spots.
The dent pulling system is a fantastic piece of equipment that in the right skilled hands will minimise the amount of body filler applied to the vehicle. This reduces the chances of filler "shrinkage" and gives a longer lasting much higher quality repair.
The car can be seen in our heated spray room with the door and wing panel painted. The benefit of repairing the existing door means we do not have to blend paint into the rear door for colour matching.
