Ideally needing a new door Scratchmaster's customer wanted us to repair the existing door mostly for cost reducing reasons.
We set about removing the existing factory paint from around the damaged area. The dent was fairly significant as can be seen in the pictures. Paintless dent repair techniques cannot be used with a dent repair of this size. This is a repair needing fairly traditional car body repair methods.
Using our Pro-Pull system we attached studs to the dented area and pulled out the dent to something like 80-90% of the original panel shape.
What remained of the repair was finished off using a high quality body filler.
After the repaired area was primed and flatted the car was prepared for painting.
You can see the car with several coats of new Syrox water based paint.
When we have checked that we are happy with the colour match we apply several coats of a high quality protective lacquer and bake the car for around 40 minutes.
When the new paint is thoroughly cured we will check the paint finish and carry out any minor corrections in the clear coat.
Finally a machine polish and a wash before calling the customer to collect their newly painted car.
